I am all about shortcuts and sort-of homemade treats. If I can find a quick way to do something that still tastes delicious {like with my Mini Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops or Donut Hole Cake Pops}, then I am all over it.
Like s’mores. I love, love, LOVE s’mores, but they’re kind of a pain in the neck. And messy. Holy moly, are they messy. We had s’mores night at our house the other night, and the amount of toasted marshmallow that I had to chip out of my 3-year-old’s hair was horrifying. Plus, they’re sort of a make-it-then-eat-it-immediately kind of snack, which limits what they can be made for.
So I decided to do super easy, super quick s’mores pops. They can be made in minutes, and you might even have everything you need for them in your cupboard right now.
Plus, they’re on a stick. Which means: a. they’re naturally more fun, because pretty much anything on a stick is awesome, and b. they’re portable. These would be great school treats, especially for those nights when your 6-year-old reminds you as he’s going to bed at 8:00 p.m. that he’s supposed to take in a snack the next day.
You know you’ve been there.
Literally, they take minutes to put together. I started to take pictures of the step-by-step process, and then I realized that would be insulting to your intelligence. Because here’s what you do:
Step 1: Poke lollipop stick in marshmallow.
Step 2: Dip in melted chocolate. I used milk chocolate candy melts, but you could use any type of chocolate you have.
Step 3: Roll in graham cracker crumbs.
Step 4: Eat.
I’m pretty sure my marshmallow-coated 3-year-old could make these.
Especially since they’re not supposed to look perfect. I personally love the more rustic look of the different sizes of graham cracker crumbs, so I just crushed them up by hand, but if you want them to look fancier, then by all means toss ’em into the food processor.
So next time you need a sweet treat on the fly, try these! I promise, you won’t be disappointed.
