Its already October. So its time to start counting the days left before Halloween! I’ve always been a big fan of the “Days Until” count down blocks. Like These Christmas ones on Little Birdie Secrets. However, working with wood is not my strong suit- and I’m likely to want to change it up again next year.
So, I’ve come up with a paper version of the Halloween countdown. I printed it on a heavy card stock (3 sheets in total) and the cut and assembled it. Its the perfect spooky decoration without all the fuss! I love paper crafting! You can download the template here.
How to make it:
The Blocks
- Print out the template on a heavy card stock. I used white, but ivory will work as well.
- Cut out the designs along the lines (They are white and fine, so not to show on the finished product.)
- Score along all of the dotted lines. Fold and crease them.
- Glue the smallest tab to the other end, so to create a box like shape.
- Fold in the other sides, and glue the top and bottom shut.
The Box
- Print out the template on a heavy card stock. I used white, but ivory will work as well.
- Cut out the designs along the lines (They are white and fine, so not to show on the finished product.)
- Fold so that the letter A touches A, B touches B and so on. Use a dab of glue to hold these tabs together. Let dry.
- Glue the tabs flat against the short side of the box.
- Insert blocks! That is it! Super easy- right?
