Sweet Sharing Wrap Up!

How many of you ladies out there know what Diablo III is? Well, I do! Its a video game, one with a long history that came out on the 15th. Why is that relevant? Because I’ve been a Diablo III widow for the past several days. Its likely to continue for at least another week or so. What can I say? Hubby likes the video games. Frankly, I’d rather he be safe at home on the computer than trompsing around outside with a gun come hunting season- so I guess we’re a good match =D Anyway, all of this hubby-free time has been a real boon to my ambitions. The latest is a whole new renaissance outfit. Hubby went last year twice, in two different sets of garb, but we’d like to step it up this year. No more peasant- we’re moving up! So, I’ve been collecting ideas, patterns, color swatches etc all week. I did take some time to review the *83* entries for Sweet Sharing Monday!! That’s a new record!

Now onto the praise!

Whopper Cake – by Julia at Stars and Sunshine

First it was the Kit Kat cake, now this! How is it that I have never thought of saving myself time and heartache by covering a cake in candy? Its really a very brilliant idea. Especially when they are complementary flavors. Can anyone say chocolate? Yum! Julia has some really great posts on her site- from DIY, to organization and food. Go pay her a visit!

How to sew with a pattern

Sewing 101: Using a Pattern – by Tara at Trophy Wife

Tara read my mind on this one. ;D As I mentioned I’ve been collecting for our Ren Fest costumes this past week. Last year I created my bodice and circle skirts by copying other designs roughly. Then, late in the season I went to a $1 pattern sale and bought ALL the applicable costume patterns they have. So this year I’m feeling pretty well armed… except this is the first time I’ve ever even looked at a pattern. Tara’s instructions definitely help to decode some of the mumbo-jumbo. I’m even feeling so confident after looking at the pieces of my patterns to  do a little combining. (This dress with the sleeves of THAT dress.) Thanks for enlightening me! =D

  1. I would be honored to put your button on my post, but it isn’t working for me. It’s just a link and no picture.

  2. Thanks for the feature-so glad I could help. I go a little crazy at the $1 pattern sales too.
