Its that time again. Sitting at the computer, having enjoyed most of the weekend (with the exception of bidding farewell to a beloved Great Aunt who will be sorely missed) and really not looking forward to an early Monday meeting.
But, such is life. I hope that you all were able to find some respite (and do some AWESOME crafts!) this weekend. I was lucky enough to guest post on SkipToMyLou.org – One of my FAVORITE blogs!
Oh, and I almost forgot my season inspired post this week- Roasted Acorn Squash and Chai Ice Cream. I’ve been experimenting with all different home made ice creams like cheesecake and low fat brownie batter. This one I whipped up to compliment the squash and it is so perfect for fall. I’m definitely making it for my inlaw dinner coming up. (Oh yeah, I’m sure you’ll hear ALL about that.)
The party is after the features!!

Mummified Can by Noreen at Crafty Journal
I think these little guys are just too adorable! And, as my husband mentioned to me when I showed him this post, “mod modge is like your favorite thing, ever.” So this super easy and quick mummy can is right up my alley! I can see them as being oh-so-cute Halloween party favor bags!
And my Personal Favorite:
Apothercary Jars With Candy – by Jill at Dreaming all Day
Now, according to Jill’s post- these are wedding favors. Adorable little jars filled with theme colored candy and the Alice and wonderland phrase “eat me.” That is totally not what I thought they were when I saw the thumbnail in the party. What I saw (and still do, actually) was an ADORABLE up-scale Halloween party treat/place setting/favor. Who doesn’t love the magic and whimsy of a potion bottle? The calligraphic label Jill used makes it even more “spooky” and I would just LOVE to take one home!

Thanks for the party and a good morning to you! I mad a bit of a departure from cooking, sewing and crafting to repair one of our rental property’s toilets. I thought this might be helpful info for other ladies. I’ve linked up a tutorial on Glamorous Toilet Repair (#59) with step by step instructions. I hope it’s helpful and a little fun!
